Wine information

Even though it is not far from the vineyard to Switzerland, the Walis is located in Baden, more precisely in the Markgräflerland, even more precisely in Efringen-Kirchen, where Hanspeter Ziereisen is at home. It is a high steep slope on Jurassic limestone, which can be found right next to an old limestone quarry. Facing south, it overlooks the Rhine. The wine is then pressed on an old basket press. The wine is drawn off with hose and by fall pressure, is aged exclusively in used wooden barrels, predominantly Barriques and Pièces. No yeasts, no enzymes, no fining, no filtration and, depending on the vintage, a maximum of 30 mg of added sulphur, usually less.
