Nose
The grape varieties Nielluciu and Sciaccarellu are the basis for this Domaine Vico site wine. The bouquet alternates between elegance and wildness, between juicy fresh sour cherries and currants with a hint of marzipan and a fresh bread dough, heather and a slightly chalky component.
Palate
The U Fornu shows its charming and extremely fresh side on the palate. The wine is taut as well as elegant and in Corsica as Nielluciu a very own variant of Sangiovese, which brings juice and acidity into play. Notes of sour cherries, barberries and currants provide the fresh component, while hints of undergrowth and heather virtually transport you to the island's wildly beautiful landscape. With air, the wine gets darker and darker, the U Fornu has power as well as volume and always stays on the precise side.
