Colour profile
With an intense garnet red that gently lightens towards the edges, the 2013 Tros Negre shines brightly.
Scent
Entering the olfactory landscape of this wine, one is immediately greeted by an earthy, unfathomable bouquet. Nuances of beetroot, mushrooms, rosemary, thyme and moss form a natural composition that is complemented by the darker fruit aromas of blackberries, figs, cassis and sloes. Floral accents of cassis leaves and violets give the wine a certain femininity.
Taste
On the palate, the 2013 Tros Negre is velvety and full-bodied. Its tannin structure seems harmoniously matured and the increased alcohol content provides a cosy warmth. The pleasant fullness and charming smoothness make it the perfect companion for strong, spicy dishes, especially those from the charcoal grill.
Food recommendations
The Tros Negre can be ideally combined with grilled broccoli and a fine beetroot crème, or a juicy Ibérico pork loin roast served with warm beans and chorizo. But also with duck breast, glazed in lavender honey and served with roasted primordial carrot, there is a harmonious interplay. Alternatively, I recommend lamb chops with roasted rosemary potatoes or a spicy ratatouille.
