Color
The wine shows a rich purple colour with a garnet red rim, slightly translucent, clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
The nose of the wine is just as pronounced and dark as the colour, but is wonderfully crystalline and transparent. Berry, yet fresh notes of blueberry, raspberry and sloe dominate the aromatic attack. They are accompanied and underpinned by woody spice, reminiscent of fresh moss and autumn leaves as well as roasted porcini mushrooms and a hint of smouldered charcoal. A very dense, yet fortunately bright and fresh-fruity, rather than compote, image emerges.
Palate
With all the dark berry fruit aromas, almost meaty, subtly reminiscent of barbecue, spice and extract of the nose, the wine from Cabernet Franc, Syrah and the Mallorcan Callet surprises on the palate with a very pleasant and drinking animating freshness. It remains dark and spicy, showing rich yet soft, ripe tannins and, thanks to its acidity, seems as deeply relaxed as only a balanced Southerner can. The 2017 Trispol from Mesquida Mora is a nature boy who is content with himself and the world, who seems to be carefree and dances with that exuberance that you only have when you do it as if no one was watching.
