Color
In light lemon yellow with slightly silvery reflections, the wine appears clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
The Vernaccia di San Gimignano is sedate and unagitated, with yellow fruit and a flowering herb garden. Ripe pear, Sharon fruit and Galia melon meet benevolently with the ethereal scents of sage, sea buckthorn and orange mint as well as laurel and white pepper. Confidently introspective, the wine exudes solid finesse.
Palate
The 2018 Montenidoli Tradizionale also convinces on the palate with its calm and expressive herbal spiciness, which is skilfully supported by yellow-fleshed fruit in a supporting role. Low acidity, a powerful yet steely body and its sparse finish make it an excellent food companion to, for example, herbal Mediterranean cuisine.
