Nose
With a lush attack, the nose combines aromas of orange zest, red apple peel and green almonds with the autolysis notes of yeast, bread crumbs and toasted hazelnuts. Presence is the theme that plays into Terroir d'Ecueil's hands when a good glass of Champagne is called for. Fierce with charming fruit, it immediately stands out in the glass like an A-plus with a star.
Mouth
With a fine pearl, the Terroir d'Ecueil from Lacourte-Godbillon flows elegantly over the palate of the taster. With juicy, saucy fruit and a subtle yeasty note, the cuvée of 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay combines power and noblesse in an unpretentious casualness. Disgorged after 30 months of yeast storage in December 2012 and dosed with a slim five grams, it is well-balanced thanks to its broad acidity and offers maximum champagne pleasure with a high level of craftsmanship and a long, delicately salty finish.
