Nose
The 2018 Terroir Historic Negre from Dominik Huber offers everyday Priorat enjoyment with neat fun in the glass and clean ignition on the palate. Dark berry fruits and cherries slumber beneath the light reduction, topped with ethereal top notes of thyme and mint. Underpinned by black pepper and earthy notes, the nose promises nothing the palate can't deliver.
Mouth
On the palate, the youthful freshness of the drink is a delight, counteracting the dark fruit of the nose. With slender acidity and reduced red fruit, it reminds of currants and cherries. Spicy components of pepper mirror the nose and give it the necessary depth, which is flanked by tart herbal notes aromatically stimulating. Light-hearted with a fresh drive, it flows into the wide-open glass almost willy-nilly.
