Nose
Historic Blanc exudes plenty of Mediterranean charm. Tangerine skin, orange peel and blood orange dominate it at this young stage. This combines fresh, fruity and tart accents. The zests also appear in candied form. Almond and orange blossom complement this wonderfully. Roasted almonds provide plenty of spice alongside white pepper. Dried herbs in the form of marjoram, thyme and oregano strike the same aromatic note.
Palate
Contrary to these intense aromas and impressions, it is clearly channelled in the nose. Lean and taut, yet powerful at the same time. You could almost call it salty. The acidity is also at an unusual level for this hot region. The Priorat-typical 13.5 % vol. is hardly noticeable. With very positive bitterness, it offers plenty of variety and versatility in food pairings. In the aftertaste, it again delivers this tart, fruity interplay.
