Color
Light golden yellow with lively, fine mousseux
Nose
Terre de Vertus needs time to open up, because he is still very young. At first, it appears cool and forbidding, like the young man from "Death in Venice". Lemon zest, wet mussel shells and damp lime have a very straight effect. With air, a few green apples join in, a yellow note flashes up, maybe it's a pear, maybe it's pure blueberries. In any case, the nose already shows that the Terre de Vertus is full of tamed energy that wants to find its expression at some point.
Palate
As cool and clear as the Premier Cru is on the nose, as focused and taut it is on the palate. Anyone who has followed the development of Terre de Vertus over the years will already recognise the character that the champagne carries. Bright green and yellow citrus fruits, chalky minerality and a sharp acidity put a lot of pressure on the palate. Whoever opens it now should give it some air and serve the Terre de Vertus with seafood that is as pure as possible. Otherwise, put it away and wait. The great pleasure will come in two or three years.
