Info
Tement Blanc is a blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Weissburgunder and Welschriesling. The age of the vines varies between 10-30 years. The soil types also vary from limestone to slate, sand and marl. In 2021, perfectly ripened grapes were available, thus laying the foundation for crystal-clear wines.
The wine was fermented spontaneously and then matured for 12 months on the fine lees. Both large, neutral wooden barrels and steel tanks were used.
Color
Light straw yellow, green reflections
Nose
Tement Blanc 2021 combines many facets of the grape varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling and Pinot Blanc. On the one hand, it appears herbal to vegetal. Paprika, fennel, gooseberry, grapefruit and lime can be found in the glass. Lemon balm, lemon thyme and sage deepen this impression. On the other hand, it delivers yellow fruits like mirabelle and peach. Mango, papaya as well as a hint of pineapple fit in perfectly. Last but not least, a chalky, filigree component comes into play.
Palate
The palate is full of absolute nonchalance. It is carried by fruit and lightness. The fruit finds its master in the pleasantly infused acidity, but the balance is always in the foreground. Rich in contrast, it varies between yellow and green aromas - both on the palate and in the finish. It benefits from its stony, cool appearance. In the aftertaste, it lives above all from herbal nuances. Coriander, lemon balm and lemon thyme dominate the taste. Its character is precise and clear.
