Information

The Sulzfelder Silvaner Old Vines is the result of a rigid selection of vines at least 50 years old from various plots around Sulzfeld. They are all characterised by the barren Upper Muschelkalk with its skeleton-rich structures. The plots are mainly located in the Sonnenberg and in the so-called Berg 1. After manual harvesting and an extended standing time on the press, the wine was slowly pressed, spontaneously fermented and aged in large wood.

Color

deep straw yellow

Nose

The Sulzfelder Silvaner Old Vines is a lively, full wine with lots of fruit of pears and quinces, nectarines and kumquats with an accompaniment of some celery, blond tobacco and smoke. Everything seems harmonious and ripe with subtle spice.

Palate

On the palate the Silvaner Dense and substantial with its clear, transparent, white-fleshed fruit that offers a lot of depth and, together with a light florality and spiciness, also an impressive complexity. Here, the tobacco notes are again in play, some undergrowth, the phenolic of longer skin contact and an impressive saltiness in the long finish.
