Nose
The 2016 Riesling Steiner Hund shows itself with plump fruit, apricot, apricot, orange, orange zest and quince jelly, beautifully underpinned by elderflower, lemon balm and ginger. Notes of mustard, wine yeast, honey, liquorice and rye bread underline its multi-faceted and powerful fragrance.
Palate
Once on the tongue, its full beauty unfolds. Fruit and animating acidity are in beautiful harmony, fine tannin notes set accents and whet the appetite, the long finish points to its youth and further storage potential - a real long-distance runner is in the glass here.
Be sure to decant!
