The Spätburgunder vom Löss is the entry ticket into the world of Keller's Spätburgunder. Friedrich Keller vinifies all of his red wines in the same style in order to bring out the best possible expression of the soil and not to mask it through ageing. The Spätburgunder vom Löss was aged to 100% in used barriques with a minimal amount of new wood. It comes from young vineyards on the loess, from old German and Burgundian clones. Drinking fluency with ambition is the motto already in the estate wine range.
Color
Transparent ruby red, bright and clear.
Nose
With clear cherry and red berry fruits on the nose, the 2019 Spätburgunder vom Löss from Fritz Keller shines with polished clear fruit in the goblet. Added to this are subtly tart notes reminiscent of elderberry or cranberry, underpinned by mild spices such as allspice and cloves. Straightforward and blunt, as one would wish for a basic Pinot Noir.
Mouth
The Spätburgunder vom Löss is fruity and transparent on the palate with a direct and clear response. The radiant fruit is framed by filigree phenolic, which coats the fresh acidic nerve like velvet. With good juice and fine-grained grip on the palate, it is a joyfully fruity Pinot Noir for any occasion.
