Nose
Kühn's Pinot Noir is an impressive specimen from the first moment, especially considering that this is an estate wine. On the nose, the wine is reminiscent of cinnamon cherries and a few red currants. In addition, there is a hint of undergrowth, dry herbs and star anise. On top of that, there is a very slight sweetness. Overall, the Pinot floating and ethereal.
Palate
On the palate the Pinot Noir the sweet ripeness of the warm 2018 vintage with a fine acidity and silky tannin. The slight amount of rapping and the very restrained use of wood provides structure and a slight coolness that is joined by a bit of mint. Overall, this is a very charming Pinot with a silky, smooth drinking flow that strikes a wonderful balance of sophistication and short-windedness.
