Bright dense purple, violet reflections
Nose
2016 Somni from 100% Carignan appears dark and structured. Liquorice and dark chocolate add a lot of substance alongside juniper berries and rubber tyres. Cassis, elderberries and blackberry clearly underline these associations. Thyme, black olive as well as pine and rosemary come around the corner with plenty of Mediterranean nuances. Violets, lavender and pansies provide intense floral scents. In the background, cinnamon, plum jam and roasted coffee beans can still be detected.
Palate
On the palate, it absolutely fulfils the expectations of the nose. Powerful and with a lot of pressure. The dark fruits appear juicy and intense. The cool minerality provides an elegant underpinning and pure elegance. Pure drinking pleasure. Juniper, liquorice and chocolate become more and more present in the glass. The aromas of sour cherries repeatedly set sweet and sour accents. In the aftertaste, it is still long and intense on the palate. Floral, fruity, spicy - everything in perfect balance.
