Color
The wine shows itself in bright golden yellow with copper reflexes and a discreet yeast cloudiness shining in the glass.
Nose
This purist rendition of a single-varietal Garnatxa Gris by Alfredo Arribas comes from a site in the Serra del Monsant National Park. Sublime in its fragrance, the wine demands some time in the glass. Honeydew melon, pomelo and sea buckthorn illuminate the wine's fruity components, but at the same time take on the part of supporting secondary role. First and foremost is spice. Roasted chestnuts, black Assam tea, almost a hint of smoked Lapsang Souchon, as well as the scent of Bündner meat fill the glass.
Palate
Aromatically powerful, yet with a stocky, medium-weight body, the 2017 Siuralta Gris from Vins Nus appears on the palate. With all the smoky and earthy spiciness of its aroma, the wine positively irritates with its lean juiciness and freshness. The latter, although this Grenache Gris also exudes warmth, is further underpinned by a skilfully balanced phenolic and grip on the palate. First-class food glider on the balance beam between rustic and fine.
Open and/or carafe in good time before drinking and enjoy not too cold, at 14°C drinking temperature.
