Out of stock

The wine is bright and clear in fruit and at the same time very juicy, which is supported at the beginning by the fact that the unfiltered and unsulphurised wine has a slight carbonic acid. This is the name of the place where the vineyard is found, and the wine produced on this extreme site is named accordingly.

Wine information

Serrat de la Plane in Catalan means stony plateau. This is the name of the place where the vineyard is found, and accordingly, the wine created on this extreme site is called. Georg Meissner takes care of his two vineyards, which were originally supposed to be cleared, with much commitment. The old Grenache vineyard is exposed to the wind and stands on a dry, stony gneiss weathered soil. The yields are around 9hl/ha.

Color

medium garnet red to purple, slightly cloudy

Nose

The 2016 Serrat de la Plane At first, it seems as if Syrah is involved, because it shows a slightly tarry side. But then ripe red and dark fruits take over, as if a lot of wild berries, especially wild strawberries, were freshly crushed and put on with a little alcohol. Overall, the wine seems fresh and remarkably cool on the nose.

Palate

Exactly this impression can also be gained on the palate, where the Grenache shows its red berry and cool side. The Serrat de la Plane is taut and downright demanding with its striking acidity and corresponding tannin. The wine is bright and clear in the fruit and at the same time very juicy, which is supported at the beginning by the fact that the unfiltered and unsulphured wine has a light carbonic acid.
