Color
Bright straw yellow, bright and clear.
Nose
With its brilliantly fruity nose of yellow, fully ripe pears and small quinces, the nose of Domaine Trapet's 2013 Riesling Schoenenbourg Grand Cru literally shines from the glass like a flaky spotlight. It is underpinned by mirabelle plums and nectarines and herbaceously countered by a bunch of chervil and borage. Orange blossom water and delicate fennel notes make the wheel go round in circles.
Mouth
On the nose, the Schoenenbourg reveals citrus and saline notes of oyster shell and light sea breeze. The fruit condenses on the palate in its shell, whose tart phenolic and delicate tannins help the wine to enormous drinking flow and slender stature. The ripe acidity provides the necessary gustatory peak. A wine with enormous potential, enjoyed now it will grace the decanter and large, expensive glasses. Guaranteed.
