Color
Sparkling, dense garnet rosé with orange reflections.
Nose
The aroma of the 2018 Sancerre Rosé "La Moussière" Late release from Alphonse Mellot is extremely incisive. Cherry, rosehip, quince jelly and cranberries combine with cinnamon, coriander and pink pepper. Black tea, licorice and wood smoke contribute a distinctive and nicely masculine touch. One gets already in the nose the impression as if one would be in more southern realms in France.
Palate
Is this now a rosé or a light red wine, you ask yourself when you taste this wine - no matter, the stuff is good. Lots of spice, lots of juice, lots of structure - a wonderful drop to crustaceans, Mediterranean dishes and cheese. Benchmark and nothing for bores!
