In shining white gold with silvery reflexes the wine shows itself clearly and brilliantly in the glass.
Compact and pronounced it comes along, and shows already in the first nose what can be in this interpretation of Sauvignon Blanc. Kalamansi, from the blossom, pulp and zest to the oil provides the base and foundation of this initially quiet and tightly laced aroma package.Like the color, so the nose. Bright and fresh, the scent is dominated by lightness. The fruit seems restrained by herbal spice of basil blossom and honeybush tea, as well as fresh fennel and white pepper that keep it in check.
A seal made of light beeswax concludes the round.
Positively irritating is the immense juiciness of the 2018 La Moussière Sancerre by Alphonse Mellot. Nestling and flowing down the palate in its creamy texture, the wine is nevertheless characterized by extremely cool and straightforward stylistics and thus most welcome for immediate enjoyment. Concentrated in all its slenderness, it finds the basis of its refreshing creation in a vibrant, crisp yet harmoniously integrated acidity.
Honest drinking fun full of unrepentant vitality.
