Wine information
The Bret brothers acquired this beautiful property of about 1.5 hectares in 2016. It is located on the slopes of a valley below the Roche de Vergisson, facing north. The soils of limestone marl and light clay are ideal for Chardonnay. Despite this cooler terroir, the grapes achieve a beautiful ripeness. The harvest took place on September 17 and 18, 2019. The Chardonnay was whole cluster pressed and spontaneously fermented. It was then aged for just under a year at 80 % in cuves and 20 % up to ten years old. pièces. A malolactic fermentation took place. The added sulfur is 45 mg/l.

Nose
The 2019 La Combe DesRoches is a ripe and round Chardonnay that opens with notes of honeydew melon and orange oil, and a little dry wood. With time, ripe yellow pears and lush white flowers are added.
Palate
On the palate then, this is a powerful but silky smooth Chardonnay - a charmer whose ripeness is broken up by cool stony notes, lively acidity and a deep minerality. The wine has decent punch, yet is clear and precise, juicy and lining with lots of ripe citrus flavors, with stone fruit and a pear creaminess. The wine can already be drunk with great pleasure.
