Info about the wine
The neighbour of "La Combe Des Roches", "La Bonnode", is a beautiful plot of 2 hectares, sloping eastwards at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson, clay and limestone in the subsoil. The view goes far over the Saone valley to Mont Blanc. The vines are surrounded by old hedges, which protects and isolates them and makes them ideal for biodynamic cultivation. The wines are fermented spontaneously, aged for eleven months in pieces and another six months in tanks, and bottled without fining or filtration.
Color
Medium bright golden yellow.
Nose
The 2018 Saint Véran Climat "La Bonnode" is multilayered and complex. Lots of stony notes, mussel shells, flint and smoky components combine with apple, pear, young mango and firm pineapple. Framed by aromas of yeast, bread crust and lime blossom tea. Much finesse announces itself already in the nose.
Palate
On the palate it is fresh and lively, it shows a lot of citrus and green apple, the fine minerality and acidity seems cool and beguiles with clarity and play, fine saltiness in the aftertaste.
A wine that is predestined for elegant cuisine with French influences.
Enjoy decanted, not too cold from a large glass.
