Color
In light golden yellow with discreet silvery reflexes the wine shows itself clear and shining in the glass.
Nose
When you hear the name Bret Brothers for the first time, nobody would expect the seeming finesse that is inherent in their wines. Their 2016 Climat "La Bonnode" is one of those wines that positively irritate by precise finesse. Delicate scents of orange blossom, acacia honey and yellow mealy pear are invigoratingly refreshed by pickled ginger, lime zest and fennel greens. An aroma radiant with clarity enriches the glass.
Palate
The brilliance and precision that were already apparent on the nose find their perfection of form on the palate. This Saint-Véran from La Soufrandière floats freely in the balanced middle of the compact opulence of its body, the refreshing vitality of its captivating acidity and the edgy length of its minerality, which serves as its calming pole. A holistically harmonious wine and great Burgundy!
