Nose
A melange of floral, nutty and fruity aspects outline the appearance of this rare diva on the nose. The 2018 Roter Veltliner unfiltered from Weingut Fritsch oscillates between lanolin, hollyhocks, almond blossom and green almonds as well as yellow, crumbly apple and green tea. With the urgently advised aeration, notes of beeswax, dried fruit and mild spices after mace increasingly show.
Mouth
Animating with a fine bitter tone and juicy oily viscosity on the palate, the Red Veltliner is a rare but welcome guest in the glass. Creamy with a delicate melt and animating phenolic, its acidity is compactly integrated, acts silently in the background and provides the right acceleration on the palate. The flow laid back, the windows rolled down and completely legal within the speed limit, it flows relaxed over the palate, whether for an aperitif or at the table.
