Sparkling straw yellow, green reflections

Nose

The first nose is a little reminiscent of Savagnin from the east of France. The nose is not even close to what one would expect from the widespread Grüner Veltliner. At first, the Red Veltliner shows caramelized quince, apple tart and baked stone fruit. The whole thing is underpinned by a delicate note of orange blossom. A little acacia honey and dried herbs also make an appearance. Tangerine and orange peel as well as some bay leaf round this off wonderfully.

Palate

Also at the palate it shows itself very versatile from the first moment. On the one hand marked by a certain pressure, without being broad or melting, on the other hand aromatically complex. Memories of sweet quince jelly and tart orange marmalade are awakened. The peel of citrus fruits reveals itself. Slight bitter tones as well as dried marjoram. The finish is enormously juicy and easy to drink. The reverberation is gripping and long.

Food recommendations from Marian Henß

  • tarte tartine
  • Quinces from the oven, lamb's lettuce with Roquefort and walnuts
  • Smoked trout, parsley potato, celery-apple salad
