Nose
The 2017 Rosso di Montalcino smells earthy aromas of malt, licorice, forest leaves, porcini mushrooms, tobacco and tree bark flow into the nose. With a little oxygen contact, fragrant fruity notes of raspberry, sour cherry, rosehip and fig join in, fresh Mediterranean herbs make it seem particularly invigorating, distinct floral notes underline its feminine character.
Palate
Silky, elegant, with a delicate fruit sweetness, it glides over the tongue and seems almost weightless. Its wonderful acidity contributes to the fact that every sip seduces to another. One could easily enjoy this drop for dreaming or meditating without the accompaniment of food, but the tasty Italian cuisine rounds it off just perfectly. Once again, proof that wine enjoyment should not be tied to numbers, the higher alcohol of 14.5 Vol% is not noticeable at any time.
