Nebbiolo, at least when it comes to the market as Barolo and Barbaresco, needs time. But this is not necessarily the very essence of this grape variety. That it can be done differently is shown by this Roero from Luca Faccenda, which delights you from the first second with its open-minded nature. On the nose there is juicy cherry fruit, some red currant and dark forest fruit with hints of violet and elderberry.
Mouth:
On the palate, the Nebbiolo almost sleepwalks the line between warm, juicy dark fruit, a lightly gripping tannin and that arc of acidity that runs through all Faccenda wines, and in the case of this one, it's a very good wine. Roero is once again a lot of fun; because with a wine that seems warm in the fruit, this fresh liveliness is downright magical.
