Color
Bright cherry red with violet reflections
Nose
Intense and berry-like, it pours out of the glass. Elderberry, blueberry, cassis, blackberry and sweet cherry show themselves in all facets. Mulberry and plum join in the round dance. Floral notes include lilac and violet. The garrigue is also clearly perceptible. Pine woods, rosemary, thyme and lavender. Black pepper and olives, along with juniper and cinnamon, give it the final spice on its journey.
Palate
Visan is a cuvée of Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourvèdre. 2020 Visan bundles all these intense aromas into a fine beam. The fruit hits the palate purposefully. At the same time, it appears enormously lean, pleasantly marked by acidity and not even remotely warm or southern. The astringency literally makes the water run in the mouth and encourages drinking enormously. It flows almost coolly over the palate and is absolutely in balance. The spicy and herbal aromas only appear on the palate with restraint. The fruit clearly dominates. Pleasantly uncomplicated with a high drinking flow.
