Out of stock

The Riesling from the red slate is fine and juicy with pleasant pressure on the palate, fine clear acidity and again a slight yeastiness and sweetness in the finish, which however is hardly noticeable next to the already mentioned minerality and smokiness of the slate, but rather has a balancing effect. medium straw yellow - The Riesling from the red slate shows itself fine and clear from the first moment on with a combination of yellow curly cherries, Reineclauden and mirabelles, a little grapefruit, black currants and a warm, slightly yeasty-sweet note, which is countered by smoke and the cool spiciness of the slate.

Wine information

The Pünderich local wine "vom roten Schiefer" comes from the iron-rich plots of the Pünderich Nonnengarten as well as from the area of the Rothenpfad in the Marienburg. After harvesting and sorting, the vines are given a certain period of maceration and are pressed very slowly with low pressure and fermented spontaneously. Clarification takes place by sedimentation. Apart from small amounts of sulphur, nothing else is added. Aging is largely done in traditional Moselan Fuder barrels of 1,000 liters capacity. The local wines are usually bottled in late spring.

Color

medium straw yellow

Nose

The Riesling from the red slate shows itself fine and clear from the first moment on with a combination of yellow gristly cherries, plums and mirabelles, a little grapefruit, black currants and a warm, slightly yeasty-sweet note, which is countered by smoke and the cool spiciness of the slate.

Mouth

What still seems yeasty-sweet and for a moment almost plump on the nose is cool, taut and marked by tart notes and stony minerality on the palate. The Riesling from the red slate is fine and juicy with pleasant pressure on the palate, fine clear acidity and again a slight yeastiness and sweetness in the finish, which is hardly noticeable next to the already mentioned minerality and smokiness of the slate, but rather balancing.
