Update 11.05.2021
Color
In light golden yellow with discreet greenish reflexes the wine shows itself clear and shining in the glass.
Nose
Hundreds of small pieces make up the jigsaw puzzle that finally forms the radiant aroma of this Riesling. On a bed of lemongrass and sweet clover, as well as kaffir lime leaves and pickled ginger, crisp Sharon fruit, Charentais melon and quince find their way in and are glazed with a fine apple blossom honey. The bright, limestone-rich base from which it sprang makes the nose lick the salt stone with glee and immediately increases the desire to thirst.
Palate
In the drink, the 2018 Riesling vom Muschelkalk shines with pronounced juiciness and a taut acidity nerve with a brilliant cut. Still a bit impetuous in its youth, this proud and quintessential local patriot with its stony echo has its sights set on longevity. Slim, yet grippy on the palate and with the traction of a quadriga, its motto is as simple as it is plausible.
