Origin
This Riesling is a jewel from the Grand Cru vineyards of the Schlossberg, which stretch charmingly to the north of Kientzheim and Kayserberg. They lie at an altitude of between 230 and 350 metres, with slopes so steep that they are terraced. The soil on which the vines take root is mainly granite mixed with greywacke and sandstone. Part of the northern segment benefits from the properties of the Thannenkirch granite. The soil here is clearly rich in minerals.

Color
This 2017 Schlossberg Riesling Grand Crus exudes a charming light gold in the glass, which appears silvery in certain light conditions.

Scent
Its aroma whisks you away to a summer garden, with ripe orange and apple notes paired with the sweet scent of honey, reminiscent of a flower meadow just bursting into bloom. Underneath lie smoky undertones and a striking minerality that underline its structure and depth.

Taste
It introduces itself lively on the tongue, its clear acidity melding deftly with the fruit flavours and melting texture in the mid-palate. Its finish is long and characterised by a delicate saltiness and invigorating tannins - a wine that has the potential for a brilliant future and is already ideal as a food companion in its early stages. Serving in large glasses and a carafe allows its characteristics to come into their own even more.

Food recommendations
Try stuffed mushroom ravioli, a paella with a lemon touch or roast beef on a sauce of fresh herbs and citrus fruits with this wine.
