Out of stock

On the palate, the Ölberg, which is only available in tiny quantities in 2017, is absolutely precise, crystal clear, fresh, lively and electrifying. At 11.5%, this wine is nominally a lightweight, but the Riesling is so present, so mouth-filling, so powerful that there is a very nice balance here.

Nose

It is impressive which absolutely independent wines Kai Schätzel vinifies more and more precisely year after year. They pay respect to the place where he spends many, many hours with his people in the perfectly tended vineyard, as well as to his own conception of winemaking. And here it is that the grapes are harvested early and yet ripe, that the wine is bottled with 11.5 % alcohol and 8.5 % acidity with 6 grams of residual sugar. The aroma here is initially dominated by the fairly typical bokery, reduction, which is expressed in notes of a freshly lit match and bacony notes. Only when this has evaporated, one perceives freshly cut pome fruit including its peels, in addition herbs and wet stone.

Palate

On the palate the Mount of OlivesThis wine, which is only available in very small quantities in 2017, is absolutely precise, crystal clear, fresh, lively and electrifying. At the same time, the Große Gewächs shows a remarkable substance and creaminess. Aromatically, again in the realm of pome fruit, herbs and a bit of citrus, one also has the feeling of catching something malty. At 11.5%, this wine is nominally a lightweight, but the Riesling is so present, so mouth-filling, so powerful that there is a very nice balance here.
