There was a largely unknown winery on the Isteiner Klotz in the Markgräflerland that lacked a successor. The families of Sektweingut Reinecker and the Kellers vom Schwarzen Adler recognised the uniqueness of the sites owned by this vineyard and took it over in 2018/2019. The uniqueness consists not only of the spectacular rock on whose edges the vineyards are located, but also of its rock, Jura limestone, the likes of which are found in the Jura and Burgundy, but hardly anywhere in Germany. No sooner said than done, the two families realised the project "Weingut am Klotz", converted the vineyards to organic cultivation and bottled the first wine with a 2018 Pinot Noir. Already with the Chasselas wines and the Burgundies from the following vintages, one finds highly independent wines that offer a new facet of these grape varieties.
