Nose
The 2017 Marienburg Late Harvest Gold Capsule is one of those wines that you can't get enough of from the first moment. The Riesling has already in the fragrance a lot of tension, delivers liveliness, melting and fruit fullness, this precise and clear. The wine reminds of oranges and orange peel, grapefruit and candied ginger, yellow cherries, apricots and ripe pears. The fruit is accompanied by slightly smoky notes, white flowers and a creamy, even creamy note.
Palate
On the palate, there is an almost perfectly balanced interplay of sweetness and acidity, fruit and spice. The fruit oscillates between fresh and refreshing, slightly tart citrus fruits and stone fruit as well as some tropical notes. In addition, there is a clear slate note and a remarkable creaminess, which was already hinted at in the aroma. The Spätlese is permeated by a brilliant acidity that lingers into the long finish, countering the sweetness the entire time. The Marienburg late vintage Gold capsule is remarkably both complex and completely uncomplicated, so that a 0.75 bottle empties in no time at all.
