Nose
The nose of the 2017 Marienburg Grossen Gewächse Fahrlay Terrassen from Rita and Clemens Busch floats like a zeppelin above the grey slate. Citrusy notes of grapefruit zest and lemon oil in the top note go full steam ahead and are flanked by delicate herbal notes of chervil and burnet. Wet stone and oyster shells lay the saline foundation. Thanks to its size, the Zeppelin floats quietly and calmly, but at a steady pace.
Mouth
From the carafe into the large glass directly to the palate pressure-full, mineral with tender saltiness and long tense, vibrating acid nerve. Grown on grey slate, it is firm and of high density, fine-grained phenolic and knife sharpness. The fruit still firmly lashed, it structures the palate like the rays of light through the blinds, clearly structured and currently still far too young. A wine for many, many years of greatest Riesling pleasure.

- Pickled octopus with Moroccan salt lemons, smoked almonds and wild herbs
