Color:
Sparkling golden yellow
Nose:
The 2013 Marienburg Riesling "Felsterrassen" Grosse Lage does not yet reveal much of its complexity and size in its youthful stage and is clearly dominated by stony and mineral notes. After a longer opening, aromas of orange, apricot, ripe apple, candied ginger and star anise emerge. Delicate notes of lime blossom and fresh garden herbs also suggest themselves.
Palate:
On the palate, the 2013 Marienburg Riesling "Felsterrassen" Grosse Lage is more open than on the nose. Fine fruit notes mingle with its lively sweetness, a stimulating acidity and delicate smoky and stony components. The reverberation is determined by a fine tart note, which gives it an extremely animating finish in the interplay with the charming fruit and delicate sweetness. A wine that demands the palate and needs time to present itself in its full size.
Recommendation:
If you want to enjoy it now, you should open it early and decant it.
