Info about the winery
In 2002, Steffen and Daniela Mugler took over the Schädler winery in Maikammer. The winery was modernised, while maintaining the structures of the family farm and converting to biodynamic cultivation. For Mugler, the rhythm of nature is paramount, starting from the basis of all life, the soil. Strengthening the vines in the sense of a natural circular economy is the prerequisite for the best grapes for the best wines. From harvesting to vinification, all steps are done by hand.
Color
Bright golden yellow, slightly muted.
Nose
Complex with earthy and mineral hints, the 2020 Riesling Maikammer Kirchenstück reveals itself on the nose. Delicate bready notes pair with anise, mushroom and almond before its fruit of orange, quince and apple skin emerges; an extremely charming start to the nose.
Palate
It is very sharp on the tongue, salty citrus notes attack the palate pleasantly, buffered by melting and juicy fruit. The delicate tannin in the finish makes it the perfect companion for dishes with fine bitter components.
