Info about the expansion
Handpicked, followed by five hours of gentle pressing and spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel.
Info about the situation
This is a special place in the Mäushöhle The vineyards extend over several old sandstone terraces directly to the edge of the forest. One has in this south-east slope a fantastic view over the Rhine plain up to the Black Forest. A valley incision also brings the evening sun to this higher situated parcel. The soil consists of meagre, sandy red sandstone, which only allows yields of 35hl/ha.
Color
Bright golden yellow with clear green reflections.
Nose
The 2019 Riesling Mäushöhle am Kirchberg has mineral depth and demands the decanter to show itself. With the necessary oxygen, it reveals aromas of lime, vineyard peach, apple skin and elderflower, beautifully framed by its distinctive, subtly smoky minerality.
Palate
On the palate, it is extremely juicy with ripe fruit and precise acidity, which is beautifully integrated into the fruit melt. This wine is permeated by a strand of minerality and stimulating spice in the finish. It seems wonderfully cool, a real long-distance runner, which shows itself already openly at the palate, but is pleased about a further storage to the development of his whole beauty.
