Wine information
The so-called Lene of the Pfingstbach once gave the Oestrich vineyard its name. The early morning fog from the flowing water at the foot of the vineyard always provided early morning fog. This now spreads botrytis, which is why this site produces noble sweet Rieslings in particular, but also residually sweet Rieslings. At the same time, however, the Lenchen is also a Great VDP site, which is why the Kühns are now, for the first time, also producing a large growth from a plot planted in 1964.
Color
intense straw yellow
Nose
The Oestricher Lenchen large growth shows an impressive, almost still wild performance, in which phenolic and yeasty notes meet apple peel, chitin and lemon as well as smoky notes from the quartz rock.
Palate
On the palate, the Riesling is intense and pure with an extremely lively, punchy yet ripe acidity for 2018. This is a Riesling from a collection that stands out strongly in 2018 because it comes across as crystal clear and vibrant, as exciting and energetic, as if the hot year had not even existed.
