Nose
Frivolous and teasing, the nose is invited to follow through the royal maze. Native scents of meadow orchards reveal themselves in the splendor of the different seasons. Gala apple and pear reveal both the scent of their blossom and the aroma of their fully ripe fruits; as well as the variety of hay flowers that surround them. Exoticism joins in the form of semi-dried mango and passion fruit. The latter including the seeds, which promise a subtle bitterness. Refreshing lightness is provided by notes of Kaffir lime leaves and honey bush tea.
Palate
The king's daughter's youngest just kissed the frog...
Juicy and caressing the palate with an oily melt, this Lenchen from Oestrich glides down the same. With a concentrated load of fruit and the ability to fan it out in several spectrums and facets, the 2016 Lenchen Riesling Auslese from Peter Jakob Kühn shines with crystalline aromatics. A vibrant, stability-giving acid framework breathes blossoming life into the wine's fine sweetness.
Although the appeal is nerve-wracking, don't necessarily enjoy this wine as a youngster, but let its true greatness grow through time.
