Info about the wine
Hohen-Sülzen is located in the so-called Eisbachtal; and as the name suggests, the cold low mountain stream that rises in the Donnersberg massif exerts a considerable influence on the cooler nights. The difference between day and night temperatures is higher in Hohen-Sülzen than in the other districts.
Color
Brilliant golden yellow.
Nose
On the nose, the 2021 Hohensülzen Riesling shows powerful stone fruit notes of apricots, mirabelles and vineyard peach. The pronounced fruit is accompanied by a sea of herbs, intense stony and flinty notes. An extremely complex and multi-layered drop with great expression.
Palate
On the tongue, it spreads out with lots of yellow fruit, salt lemon and a demanding beautiful acidity. Lots of grip in the mid-palate and long finish. A wine that can age wonderfully and should be decanted at its current stage, fantastic with dishes with concentrated sauces and fruity components.
