Wine information
The Hipping is a part of the so-called Roter Hang in Nierstein. It joins the Pettenthal and the somewhat protruding nose of the Brudersberg. The Kühling-Gillot parcel is framed by red slate weathering rock in the form of a small amphitheatre in the highest part of the Hipping. The site is steep up to 65 % and lies at 80 to 174 meters.
Color
medium straw yellow
Nose
In the fragrance presents itself 2017 Hipping firmly worked. At the beginning it shows itself slightly reductive, before tart citric, but also vegetal and herbal notes prevail. In the background one finds the Rotliegende in the form of a lively, but nevertheless discreet slate spice.
Palate
On the palate, the vegetal and herbal notes combine with citrus fruit components and red berry ones as well. Yes, a few red currants shine through the otherwise very bright compote. In addition, there is a fine tannin, a high extract and an acidity that is ripe, but has a good bite. Typical for the Rieslings from Hipping are the fine melt and an almost oily component in the wine, which otherwise appears juicy, firm and powerful.
