Directly opposite the main house on the other bank of the Moselle is the largest part of the Busch family vineyards in the Marienburg site. The former subdivision into individual vineyards fell victim to wine legislation in the 1970s. In order to emphasise the specific differences within the Marienburg site, Clemens Busch vinifies the parcels separately and bottles the wines under the former parcel designations, such as Fahrlay or Falkenlay. In this way, the different slate soils and the special microclimates are clearly expressed in the wine. Part of the steep slope below the Marienburg belongs to the GG site Nonnengarten. Here, Clemens produces an exclusive cuvée in reserve quality from the parcel under the pear tree. This means that it is only brought to market after longer barrel ageing on the fine lees.
