Wine information
The 2017 Pinot Blanc Pino.T comes from Tement's Ried Sulztal site with limestone marl and loamy sandy soils. Ried Sulz, as it is commonly called, is a warm, closed kettle site with a south-southwest orientation. After hand harvesting, sorting and spontaneous fermentation, the wine was fermented down to 1.1 grams of residual sugar in neutral 700-liter oak barrels, where it was aged on its fine lees for 18 months and bottled unfiltered.
Color
light golden yellow
Nose
This PINO.T Reed Sulz shows elegance and maturity. The Pinot blanc opens with notes of white flowers, fleshy yellow apple fruit, a little orange and tangerine, herbs and chalky minerality. The almost neutral wood delivers a nuance of vanilla and white nougat, rounded off by a touch of beeswax.
Palate
On the palate the PINO.T almost sensual in its elegant creamy and fine texture. The fruit is warm and juicy, the acidity silky and also ripe, but at the same time lively, which is further supported by the typical mineral note that actually all Tement's wines possess. Apple and crisp pear fruit meets salt lemon and peach. The wine offers tension, grip and drinking flow.
