Although the Riesling can't hide a certain opulence, it seems buoyant and lively, delivers good pressure to the palate and creates a wonderful balance between rich fruit and fine herbal spice. Yellow stone fruit and a sturdy texture set the tone, a fine tannin and a ripe acidity provide clarity and character.

Information about wine

The farm is located in the Reiterpfad opposite Ruppertsberg and next to Deidesheim. The historic site is characterized by a soil of red sandstone rubble in an east-southeast sloping terrace. The Hofstück is the winery's warmest vineyard. The Riesling was harvested botrytis-free in October and November. It then stood on the mash for up to six hours, was spontaneously fermented and fermented down to two grams of residual sugar and aged in large double barrels as well as in stainless steel.

Nose

The Reiterpfad-Hofstück is a sun-drenched site, and you can sense that in the aroma of this Grosses Gewächs. It is an opulently fragrant yellow-fleshed Riesling with lots of ripe stone fruit, complemented by orange and grapefruit notes. But it doesn't stop at pure fruit. Wet stone with a little salt, curry and turmeric also play a role and additionally animate the first sip.

Palate

As cool and distant as the wines from the Christmanns' chalky vineyards often seem in their youth, the wines from the Christmanns' vineyards are open and inviting. Yard piece from the sun-warmed red sandstone. Yellow stone fruit and a substantial texture set the tone, a fine tannin and a ripe acidity provide clarity and character. Although the Riesling can't hide a certain opulence, it still comes across as buoyant and lively, delivers proper pressure to the palate and creates a wonderful balance between rich fruit and fine herbal spice.
