Wine
Ca' La Bionda Recioto »Le Toradare" 2012 Valpolicella Classico
Wine information
A cuvée of 70 % Corvina, 10 % Corvinone and 20 % Rondinella. The terraced limestone marl vineyard lies at up to 300 meters. After the harvest in September, the grapes are dried until April. The rosinized grapes then have a sugar content of about 160 g/l. The wine is aged for about two years in barriques.
Color
dark cherries with almost black core
Nose
The essence of sour cherries pours from the glass, mingling with melted milk chocolate and cherry liqueur, seasoned with a little homemade blueberry and elderberry syrup and a handful of wild harvested herbs and bitter almonds. The Recioto is rich and lush, but at the same time you notice a certain freshness on the nose.
Palate
On the palate, the 2012 Le Tordare Recioto is soft and sensual, sweet yet fresh. For the sweetness is enlivened by crisp acidity, slightly tart notes and a savoury tannin. The black cherry concentrated fruit sits on a bed of chocolate, infused with hints of Earl Grey and blood orange. A delightful pleasure.
