Out of stock

On the tongue, it is no less animating with stringent and invigorating acidity that mixes with salt lemon and green apple. If this is not an option, decant the 2018 with several hours' notice and pair it with cuisine that seems as fresh and lively as itself.

Info about the wine

Located in a magnificent valley at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson, this old east-facing Chardonnay vineyard on 0.69 hectares at 250m planted with 55-year-old vines produces perfectly balanced grapes. The hallmark of this wine? A tension and texture that can only come from red soils on Jura limestone. Aging took place over 17 months in steel tanks and pieces. Bottled without fining and filtration.

Color

Medium golden yellow with delicate green reflections.

Nose

The 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé Climat "En Chatenay" again shows its mineral and somewhat malty character on the nose. Besides mussel shells, yeast, sea salt and some iodine, we find citrus, white peach, quince and grapefruit. After longer contact with oxygen, aniseed, ginger and dry biscuits appear. An extremely animating and multi-layered fragrance.

Palate

On the tongue, it is no less animating with stringent and invigorating acidity that mixes with salt lemon and green apple. A still youthful and complex drop that will develop wonderfully over the next few years and has plenty of potential for the future. For now, best to buy the 2017 vintage and cellar it in 2018. If that's not an option, decant the 2018 with several hours' notice and pair it with cuisine that seems as fresh and vibrant as it is.

Enjoy decanted, not too cold from a large glass.
