Info about the wine
Located in a magnificent valley at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson, this old east-facing Chardonnay vineyard offers perfectly balanced grapes. The hallmark of this wine? A tension and texture that can only come from red soils on Jura limestone.
Color
Medium golden yellow with delicate green reflections.
Nose
The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Climat "En Chatenay" appears pleasantly mineral and somewhat malty on the nose. Alongside mussel shells, yeast, sea salt and a little iodine, the fruit notes initially emerge somewhat restrained. Apple, apple skin, a little pear, the overall picture of the Chardonnay thus announces itself very finely and elegantly.
Palate
On the tongue, it enchants with salty notes in combination with a refreshing and invigorating acidity. Pure stimulation with Burgundian finesse and depth - it does not remain with one glass. Even though it is already very lively and open, it has a very good potential to mature in the future.
Recommendation
Enjoy decanted, not too cold from a large glass.
