Info about the wine
The property of about 0.5 ha, planted with 35-year-old vines, is located on the southern slope of the Roche de Solutré at an altitude of about 300 meters. The view is magnificent and the clay-limestone soils here are particularly red and ferruginous. With these small grapes, the potential of this terroir can be fully exploited. Hand-harvested in August 2019, fermented with wild yeasts, then aged for 17 months in steel tanks and Pieces. Bottled without fining and filtration.
Color
Medium bright golden yellow.
Nose
The 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé Climat "Au Vignerais" appears very compact on the nose. Lots of cool minerality of mussel shells, sea salt, iodine and sea breeze meets toast, some butter, flint and animating notes of kindling. This compactness conveys power, depth and complexity, a beautiful fragrance. After decanting, lime, citrus and young mango enter the scene, fresh ginger and mushrooms are also in the mix.
Palate
Creamy palate with elegant drinking flow, clear minerality and a finesse-rich acidity, which is wonderfully embedded in the melting of the wine. Burgundy par excellence, at its best with classic and purist cuisine.
Enjoy decanted, not too cold from a large glass.
