Vineyard Insight
In the heart of Pommard's myriad slopes, resides majestically, the Clos Orgelot vineyard, planted at three different epochs - 1921, 1990 and 1993 - at an altitude of 310 metres, offset to the east.

Terroir
This piece of land, famous for its clay and limestone soil, lies above Pommard Epenots, nestled between Les Pézerolles and the Beaune 1er Cru "Clos des Mouches".

Wine production
Yields, which are lovingly harvested by hand, range between 25-30 hl/ha. The ageing takes place between 18 and 22 months in barrique barrels, of which about 10-15 % are new. A limited bottle production of 1600 makes the heart of every wine lover beat faster.

Colour shade
In terms of colour, the Clos Orgelot shines in a striking pomegranate red that lightens noticeably at the edges.

Bouquet
Already in its youth, the 2017 Pommard Premier Cru "Clos Orgelot" unfolds incredibly fine nuances of sour cherries, raspberries, figs and vineyard peaches, accompanied by a subtle orange peel note. With sufficient aeration, violets, juniper and cloves join in. Hints of maggi herbs, wood smoke and iron conjure up a bouquet of fragrances rich in umami.

A treat for the palate
Silky and enveloped in a delicate sweetness of fruit, accompanied and enhanced by the tartness of young tannins, this noble drop glides pleasurably past the tip of the tongue, only to flow down the throat full-bodied and intense. However, this moment should be avoided for the time being, because with the necessary maturity and time, this nuanced wine will unfold even better. Before consumption, we recommend decanting and pouring into a generous Burgundy glass.

Culinary recommendations
This exquisite drop harmonises excellently with porcini mushrooms, refined with avocado oil and black salt and served with crispy ciabatta. It goes equally well with a miso ramen with grilled chicken, or a roasted sea bass on green Puy lentils garnished with baked black pudding and pear slices.
